At 15 years old, I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life. The only thing I knew with absolute certainty was that art was the one place where I truly felt like myself. 

School had become unrecognisable to me. Years of bullying had left me feeling isolated, and eventually, I made the difficult decision to leave. It wasn't because I had a plan or any idea of where life would take me—I didn't. All I knew was that creating gave me hope when very little else did.

Choosing to study art was a leap into the unknown. What started as an escape gradually transformed into a purpose. Every sketchbook, every painting, and every late night in the studio became another step forward. Art gave me confidence when I had none, a voice when I struggled to find one, and a future I never believed was possible.

That journey has led me through art school, where I earned a BA (Hons) in Art & Design and qualified as a lecturer in the same field. Along the way, my work has been exhibited throughout Scotland and internationally. I have painted public murals and had the privilege of sharing my passion with others through teaching.

Everything I create is influenced by that 15-year-old who didn’t know where he belonged but refused to let go of the one thing that made him feel alive. I hope that my work reminds people that creativity can be more than just making something beautiful; it can be a way of rebuilding oneself, finding one's voice, and discovering a path that once seemed impossible.
